Biography

In 1989 Brain immigrated to Canada, and was inspired by Canadian culture to create many new works of art. He has also been signed to contract with some galleries in Canada.

He specializes in portraits, and landscapes and is driven by his fascination of colour and detail.

Brian Zheng is a member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists and the Alberta Society of Artists.

Brian’s works are in corporate and private collections throughout Canada and many other countries. Some of his paintings were published in “The Alberta Wilderness Association Journal” and one of his Portraits was published in the Alberta Society of Artists “The First Seventy Years History Books” in 2000, many of his opuses were collected by native and foreign collectors.

Artist Statement

Brian Zheng, an oil painting artist was born in Beijing China. As a child, he was driven to become an artist and expended a great deal of effort to pursue this dream. He began his art career when he was 15, and studied with a well-known professor at the Central University of Fine Art in China.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art at the Capital Normal University of Beijing. After receiving a BFA, he was the Art Editor and Graphic Designer for the internationally distributed magazine “China Pictorial” and worked with a group of artists to create murals and decorations as well. He also freelanced as a commercial artist designing magazine covers and company logos,
