ASA Scholarship 2021

Eligibility:

Any 2nd or 3rd year student enrolled in a Fine Arts program at a post-secondary institution within Alberta.

To apply for the scholarship, students must submit artworks to be considered for the scholarship as well as  for the ASA student exhibition “Emerging Artists Unleashed. These artworks can consist of painting, drawing, sculpture, digital media or installation.

Catalogues will be  published for the Emerging Artists Unleashed student exhibition.

Criteria: Awarding the scholarship will be based on a combination of artistic merit, innovation and creativity, and academic achievement. There are no restrictions as to how the scholarships may be spent.
Value: $1000.00
Quantity: Two individual scholarships.
Selection: Blind Jury selected by the Education Chair of the Provincial Council of The Alberta Society of Artists
Deadline: Extended to January 26, 2021 at 11:59pm MST
Notification: Recipients will be notified before January 31, 2021. This is subject to change as the ASA monitors and adapts to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

 

 

Submission Requirement for Undergraduate Students:

  1. One artist resume or CV
  2. Application form (below)
  3. Up-to-date Unofficial Transcript from post-secondary institution. If recently transfer to a new institution, then provide a transcript from the previous institution as well.
  4. Five (5) artwork images in .jpg format
  5. Artist statement pertaining to the body of work submitted.

  • Include a 200 word essay to accompany the submitted images that incorporates a personal statement in relation to the submitted body of work and your artistic practice.
