The Artist's Brain in Gear

This event is free and open to the public.

An illustrated 45 minute talk about the elements and principles of design and how the artist solves problems in design.  This talk includes examples from paintings from important Canadian artists (and a few of my own) to show how artist use rationality as well as serendipity.  There may even be a surprise or two.

Questions and discussion to follow.

Brent Laycock (ASA SCA CSPWC RCA) was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and the panoramic landscape of southern Alberta has constantly influenced his work.He earned BFA and MFA degrees from Brigham Young University, Utah, and established his painting career in Calgary, Alberta.  For over four decades, his work has been shown in many solo exhibitions across Canada and in the USA and in numerous juried shows that have toured Canada, the USA, Mexico, Europe, Australia and Japan.
