Biography
Wendy Passmore-Godfrey obtained a BFA in photography from the University of Calgary. In her studies, she explored non-traditional techniques such as photograms. Since then, she has explored a wide range of media from textile arts, altered books, weaving, paper craft, pinhole cameras, painting, collage, mono printmaking and video arts. In her puppet construction work as AD of WP Puppet Theatre, akin to creating movable sculptures, she’s worked with many fabrication materials from foam, wood, plaster pulp paper. Her use of various media supports an inherent theme in her work, that of narrative and character. Crafting stories through visual means is an ancient art and her pieces call out to the imagination and beg a personal response. Ripe for interpretation, they seek to connect a deeper self with a kind of storytelling that goes beyond words. |
