A solo exhibition featuring the work of Alberta artist Mary Whale, ASA, at the Walterdale Theatre, Edmonton Alberta.
“The term Wabi Sabi connotes such qualities as impermanence, humility, asymmetry and imperfection in things. The way we, as people, age is not unlike that of a revered piece of pottery that has survived the ravages of use; the cracks to be filled with gold. The ‘beauty of use’ can be witnessed in old people; the patina, the textures, and the incredible lines.”
Under the supervision of the President, the Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating activities directly related to ASA public programming throughout Alberta. This includes maintaining communications with government, arts organizations, galleries, and other institutions, responding to inquiries from ASA members, participating artists, and the public and ensuring that the ASA Gallery is open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday, between 10 am and 4 pm.
The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to invite artists (over 18) who are interested in self-directed research and site-specific work to apply to our new Artist-in-Residence Creative Program.
Artist-in-Residence Creative provides a rare look into our organization and the gallery complex at Crossroads Market in Calgary. You will have access to our archives, meet with long-standing members and chat with people in the vibrant weekend market.
This Exhibition is open to Juried and Life Members of the ASA located in or around the EDMONTON METROPOLITAN AREA.
The ASA invites all Alberta Artist Photographers over the age of 18 to apply to the ASA’s annual photography exhibition as part of Exposure Fest 2024.
