Once – The Exhibition
A Clarification
The organizers of the Once Exhibition want to clarify the call for ASA members to participate in the exhibition to be held at Walterdale Theatre next July. There is no expectation that you would have work already created on this theme. In recent years the ASA has mounted major exhibitions based on the music of Sir Elton John, Joni Mitchel and Sarah McLaughlin. If you are interested in exploring the idea of the interaction of music and the visual art and would like to explore that concept in the coming months, we would like to hear from you. Whether you are Picasso working with the Ballet Russes, Degas and the Ballet or Lautrec and the Moulin Rouge
or even if you are thinking something simpler like llingworth Kerr and the Nocturne paintings, please fill out the online application. On the form, where it asks for your artist’s statement, please outline the idea you wish to explore and some idea of what form the works might take. Also please attach a few images of your current work. Once you have completed the work you can then submit images of the actual work. If you have any questions please contact the Edmonton Committee at exhibits.yeg@albertasocietyofartists.comWe are inviting ALL ASA Members to submit to “Once” – The Exhibition” at the Walterdale Theatre in Edmonton from July 7-18, 2026.
This call will be open until Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 11:59 pm. You can view the Prospectus through the button on the right.
Please ensure to read the Prospectus thoroughly, as incomplete or incorrectly filled submissions will not be accepted.
